Yellow Dump Cake
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 large can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick margarine
Chopped nuts, optional
Put the first two ingredients into a greased 9”x13” pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix on top. Either slice the margarine in slices and spread all over the top of the cake mix or melt the margarine and pour over the cake mix. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 50 minutes or until golden brown.

Zippy Cheese Sandwiches
Fix bread and sliced cheese as for making grilled cheese sandwiches. However, add a small amount of hot mustard inside the sandwich.
Prepare milk and egg mixture as for making French toast. Quickly dip sandwiches, both sides, in and out of mixture and into crushed corn flakes or corn flake crumbs. Fry in margarine.
Zoo Animal Sandwiches
Let the children cut out bread using different animal cookie cutters. The metal ones work best for cutting. Then they can put their favorite jelly on the bread and/or peanut butter and use two to make a sandwich.
Zucchini Bread
2 cups grated zucchini
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Mix the first six ingredients thoroughly. Next, add the flour, baking soda, and nuts, if desired. Mix until well blended.
Pour into 2 greased and floured bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Finger Jello
4 envelopes Knox Unflavored Gelatin
3 pkgs, (3 oz.) flavored Jello
4 cups boiling water
In large bowl, combine the two gelatlns; add boiling water and stir until dissolved.
Pour into large, flat pan and chill until firm.
Cut into squares to serve. These may be wrapped separately in saran wrap if desired.
Makes about
100 one inch squares.
Playdough
1 cup flour
1 cup water
½ cup salt
1 T. oil
1 T. alum (purchase in the spice department)
flavoring (peppermint, lemon, anise, etc.)
food coloring
Mix all of the dry ingredients. Add oil and water gradually. I use hot water. Stir until smooth. Add desired amounts of flavoring and
coloring. Cook over medium heat until it reaches the consistency of mashed potatoes or cream puff dough. It needs to be turned over and over until it loses its glossy color. Be careful not to burn.
Turn out onto a board or waxed paper to cool. When cool enough to handle, knead until smooth.if sticky, the oil was not measured exactly and too much was put in or it was not cooked long enough.
Rice Krispies Crunch
2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup flake coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
Buttered 9" x 12" pan
Mix rice krispies, coconut, nuts, and butter. Toast in a 300 degree oven for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Mix brown sugar with oven mixture. Put half in the pan. Spoon ice cream on top. Top with remaining mixture,. Freeze until served.
Delicious Karmel Korn
8 to 9 quarts popped popcorn (30 cups)
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup margarine
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup whit syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Boil all ingredients above except popcorn and baking soda for five minutes, mixing well and stirring often. Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda. It will foam and almost double in amount so use appropriate size kettle. Pour over popcorn and mix well. Put in two flat pans and bake in 250 degree oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes to keep from burning. Store in tightly covered tins.

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cocoa
Mix the ingredients in the order given, beating until smooth. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased baking sheet, trying to get all cookies the same size. Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Make sandwiches by spreading icing between two cookies, bottom sides together.
Icing:
2 T. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 cup margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
Mix flour and milk and cook until the consistency of cream. Cool. Cream sugar, salt, shortening, and vanilla. Mix well. Add milk mixture and beat till fluffy.
These are homemade Susie-Q's.
