Jell-O Cake
Prepare a white cake mix as directed, baking it in a 9”x12” pan. Cool. Dissolve any flavor Jell-O in ¾ cup boiling water. Add ¾ cup cold water. With a fork, carefully prick holes in top of cake, across entire surface. Do not go through to the bottom of the cake. Carefully pour Jell-O liquid into these holes. Refrigerate till cold. Frost with Kool Whip.

King Tarts
These are something simple that children love to make and eat.
Roll out canned biscuits on a floured surface, one at a time. Put a spoonful of pie filling, any flavor, on top to one side. Fold over and seal edges. Bake at 100 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until brown. Serve warm.
(Homemade) King Tarts
1 cup flour
½ cup butter
1/8 tsp. salt
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 egg, beaten
Preserves as desired
Into medium bowl, sift four and salt. Add butter and cream cheese cut in small pieces. With pastry blender cut butter and cheese into flour until all is well blended. Shape dough into ball – wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper and refrigerate. On floured surface, roll out cheese dough 1/8” thick. Cut with heart cookie cutter. Put on lightly greased cookie sheet. In the center of each piece place preserves. Cover with another heart. With fork press edges together. Brush top with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees till golden brown.

Lollipop Cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make a batch of sugar cookie dough and chill.
Roll some dough into a walnut size ball. Flatten on a greased cookie sheet into a circle. Place Popsicle stick on top of the circle of dough. Place a piece of chocolate in center of dough. Add another ball of dough and press over the candy and stick. Bake these at 400 degrees until brown and kind of crisp. (10 to 12 minutes)

The pretzel was a special food that early Christians made during Lent. A special dough was made and shaped into the form of two arms crossed in prayer. This reminded Christians that Lent was a time for prayer and penance.

2 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1½ cups water
1 egg
rock salt
Dissolve yeast in ½ cup warm water. Beat the egg slightly and mix in remaining cup of water. Add dissolved yeast. Mix well. Add flour, sugar, and salt. Again mix well. Knead on floured surface. Pinch off pieces and roll into snake shapes. Shape into pretzels. Place on greased cookie sheets. Brush with water and sprinkle with rock salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown. Best when eaten warm.
